WEEKLY NATIONAL RON PAUL CONFERENCE CALL

Thanks for sharing the KGO and eHarmony amazing stories, Terry.
Between Cindy Sheehan's condemnation of the two-party system and Ron
Paul's solid non-interventionist credentials during this time of war,
libertarians are in a position to gain some ground.

Some in my Peace groups are leaning toward Ron Paul, but lamenting
his "weak record on social issues," i.e. his free-market stance. Good
upportunity for those of us who belong to these groups to gently
mention some free market solutions to this war, as well as to our
national economy's dependence of the war machine.

Interesting times, indeed, Marcy! As I was driving home last night

from our

LP Rafting trip to Calaveras County, I changed the radio to San

Francisco's

KGO when I came back into range, and heard their Sunday night talk

show

host, Karel, discussing the Democratic Canddate debate, and he

mentioned

that Ron Paul was the only Republican he could ever support,

primarily based

on his opposition to the war. If you listen to KGO with any

frequency, you

probably know that Karel is the most outspokenly liberal of all the

talk

show hosts on the station. It was the first time I'd ever heard

Ron Paul's

name mentioned on that station outside of Gene Burns' program.

And even later on last night, as he was interviewing two attorneys

who are

representing a lesbian woman who has filed a class action lawsuit

against

eHarmony.com because they are a Christian dating site, and do not

match

same-sex couples, Karel took eHarmony's side of the argument and

said that

as a private company, they had the right to discriminate if they

chose to do

so. He also noted that the free market has responded with dozens of
gay-oriented matchmaking services to capture this opportunity that
heterosexual-oriented matchmaking services ignored (he specifically
mentioned Match.com, which allows clients to search for same-sex
partners, while eHarmonys' system doesn't include this option in

their search

engine). Similar services can be found on gay.com and even

craigslist.

Perhaps one San Francisco liberal with a microphone has opened his

mind to

our peace oriented free market Libertarian ideas.

CALL

Just a thought: Ron Paul might be the only candidate benefiting

from

campaigning from a lot of political parties, and wouldn't it be
amazing if he ended up as the dark horse! Peace Republicans are
working for him, as are Peace Libertarians. But the surprising
support comes from Democrats who 1) will work for all Peace
candidates or 2) will work for the least likely Republican in hopes
of improving the Dem's chances in the General Election.

To add to the mix, Cindy Sheehan rails against the two party system
(read her "resignation letter"; it made me cry). And the Dems-laden
VotersforPeace.com is having second thoughts about the Democrats
being any different than Republicans.

Interesting times...interesting times.

Thursday night (5-31-07) 6PM pacific: Fred Smart of Evanston, Il. ;
Dede Farrell of Portland, Or. : and me Steve Harris of Charlotte,

NC

will coordinate this weekly call. The three of us have branched out
from the Aaron Russo Group "America, Freedom to Fascism" to help

get

the word out about Ron Paul. We had Ron Paul on our AFTF National
call several months ago before he announced that he was running for
President and we had over 300 callers from across the Country. Fred
Smart has a daily radio show on the RBN radio network from Chicago.

I

have produced the "Ron Paul Revolution" DVD that we are

distributing

across the USA.
