Wanted: Sex offenders to participate in ACLU lawsuit against Prop. 35

The ACLU is looking to immediately file suit against Prop. 35 if it passes, and is seeking additional plaintiffs. Their focus, naturally, will be the anti-civil-liberties nature of the measure, specifically its requirement that those who currently have to register as sex offenders will be further required to provide all current and future online identities (profiles, passwords) to law enforcement.

Specifically they are looking for someone:

-who currently has to register as a sex offender in CA, *and*
-who is willing to participate for the length of the trial

They apparently also prefer someone who is willing to use his or her real name (i.e. not J. Doe), but this is optional. If you think you or someone you know qualifies and might be willing to be part of this suit, please get in touch and let me know ASAP.

Actually, I have a friend who is a registered sex offender.

His offense was that he had sex with an under-aged street prostitute.

After she turned 18 years of age, she gave a list of all her Johns to the
DA.

My friend was threatened with 40 years in prison unless he pleaded guilty
and agreed to be registered as a sex offender.

However, my friend lives in North Carolina now so I do not believe he would
be a suitable plaintiff.
