About the Libertarian Party:

· We are America’s third-largest political party.
· Many Libertarians serve in elected office and
directly implement Libertarian policies.
· We have
affiliates in all 50 states.
· We run hundreds
of candidates for all political offices from President down to U.S.Congress and city councils.

Here’s how the Libertarian Party makes a
difference:

· Win or lose,
every vote for a Libertarian makes a difference.
· We think past
the current election and vote to send a clear signal that we want freedom!
· You can be
another voice in the crowd, or you can amplify your voice a thousand times by
running for office as a Libertarian candidate.
· Libertarian
leaders and candidates get tons of free coverage on TV, radio, in newspapers,
and online, just by showing up!
· Libertarians
deliver a big bang for the buck!

A Zogby poll found that 44 percent of
respondents agreed they were “fiscally conservative and socially liberal, also
known as libertarian.”

*Federal law requires political committees

Ron,

Thanks for your explanation.

The "established libertarian principle" you refer to has been established by
limited Govt libertarians only. The anarcho-libertarian established
principles see defense as an illegitimate function of the state, along with
all other functions the state attempts to arrogate to itself.

Warm regards, Michael

Ron,

Thanks for drafting a proposed outreach flier. Here are the immediate
suggestions I came up with:

- eliminate the "Top 10 Disasters" lists, because they are too
subjective; I can't see the Post Office as being important enough to
be on either list, for instance
- refer to the "PATRIOT Act" in quotes because it's not really
patriotic, and with "PATRIOT" in caps because it's an acronym (as
already listed in Bush Disasters list)
- similarly list "War on Drugs" in quotes and with first letter caps,
because it's a well-known popular phrase we're trying to draw
attention to (like "Climategate", "Tea Party," etc.)
- list "civil liberties" as the first item under "Libertarians stand
for"; nationally, the LP is in danger of moving too far to the right,
and we should do our part to help balance this bias; on a practical
basis, we're in a liberal city and are speaking to our audience when
we put our left foot forward
- specify details for the Zogby poll - was this a U.S. national poll?
When was it taken? Is it online?
- eliminate "Libertarians deliver a big bang for the buck!" as an
example of how Libertarians make a difference; I'm not sure that it's
technically true relative to other ways money might be spent, and in
any case sounds like a vague, meaningless or unsupported advertising
claim (e.g. "Crest whitens teeth better!")
- instead add "The Libertarian Party is the only nationally organized
U.S. political party that consistently champions non-aggression, i.e.
letting you make your own choices in life so long as they do not
violate the rights of others"
- the flier as a whole could use some formatting in terms of making it
more visually appealing, i.e. adding some graphics, making it look a
bit more polished; I can help with this if you like

I agree with Mike's proposed changes too, thanks for modifying the
list as he suggested.

Thanks Ron, but unfortunately I won't be able to print a copy as my
printer is not working right now. I'm not sure what's wrong with it,
and at this point am just planning to buy a new one. Anybody familiar
with Brother model MFC-240C willing to troubleshoot?

Dear Starchild;

Try this web site for instant response Brother printer troubleshooting. There is an instant reply section at the top of the page. Good hunting!!!

Ron,

I think anarcho-capitalists would claim they *don't* rule, and that
this is kind of the point.

Thanks for the web link on the printer troubleshooting. I already
found one support page that described the problem (white horizontal
lines appearing through everything), but the solution they recommended
didn't work, so I think the issue may be the printer head itself is
damaged, but I don't know how to determine that or whether it's
reparable at a reasonable cost. Since I think the site you reference
is a different one than I looked at before, I'll try to see if I can
find anything about the issue there.

Dear Starchild;

Rules? We ain't got no rules. We don't need no rules. I don't have to show you any stinking rules.
