Since you’re talking about ballot measures today, here’s a quick update on Regional Measure 4, the $20 billion affordable housing bond:
- Jason Bezis filed suit on behalf of a group of Bay Area libertarians and conservatives (including me) against the ballot language. The suit has been covered by SFGate and the Mercury News
- We have already forced BAHFA to fix an error in the ballot language: changing the annual tax take from $670 million to almost $911 million
- An opposition group has formed, and you can see our site at https://www.20billioreasons.com
- Last month the Chronicle covered the fact that a project at 3300 Mission Street is going to cost over $1 million per studio apartment unit. This is the type of project we will get more of with this bond.
All the best,
Marc
