Hi All,
Third interesting situation for the upcoming elections is the voter initiative being managed by Gollinger of 8 Washington fame that would place hight limits on new waterfront construction. I am personally voting for it (assuming it calls for limits on all buildings, not just those the Gollinger crowd does not like) simply because it will help thwart Plan Bay Area. PBA will have to depend on eliminating the height limits now on the books, not only on the waterfront but everywhere. This proposal will also thwart SB1 and its miserable land use requirements. Again, I have not read the proposal, and it could be addressing just the planned stadium on the waterfront, etc.
The other interesting proposals so far concern the minimum wage and Ellis Act. These also are interesting from a city planning/market manipulation standpoint, and I have placed an article from that perspective on the LPSF website. It would be great if we could start writing LTE's, posting on our different groups etc. about the upcoming proposals. Maybe Aubrey could put on next Saturday's agenda something on the subject.
