The whole exchange lasted just under an hour. We ended up talking more about ideas, definitions and such than about coalition building, which is sort of unfortunate in a way, but it was an interesting exchange. I was trying to be very candid and create rapport by not coming across as partisan, but I think I put a bit too much emphasis on problems in the LP. Keith also made some statements I would have liked to have rebutted more directly. At the time I was mindful of trying to keep the discussion constructive and not see it veer into antagonism, but I'm not sure my counterpart was equally focused on that goal.
I do think that at least Bryan (the moderator/event organizer), who was (is?) a Ron Paul supporter, appreciates libertarianism and has interest in finding common ground between libertarians and the left. I hope to be able to collaborate with him more in the future.
