the pit Bulls

Wow! Powerful thoghts, Phil. It would seem to me that it is our job
to communicate those thoughts to our brothers and sisters who are
nowadays exposed to nothing but opportunistic rhetoric such as you
describe. Can we do that, Phil? Can we work to help BUILD (as
opposed to TEARING DOWN) a community based on personal
responsibility? I have tonight fired off e-mails as Jawj suggested
at the meeting, and tomorrow, I will mail the letters with the same
wording.

Tradgedy is the strength of good politicians. Hitler rode to power

proposing that the pit bull tragedy needs more paternalism from
government. This was not the mayors finest hour.

Having injected politics into tradgedy, the mayor can not go
uncriticized for this comment. In any tradgedy if any event was
changed, no tradgedy. Had the government not contributed to the
finacial instability of this family, maybe the father would not have
gone to Oregon for work. But instability is the ordr of the day. The
father was the first of a wave of layoffs as construction slows. The
boom and emerging bust in construction is a direct result of our
insane and unconstitutional Federal Reserve quasi government banking
system. The economic dislocartions are just beginnning after twenty
five year party that made the roaring twenties look tame. Sky high
taxes may have also contributed economic instability in the home.

Marci, The really succeessfull non profits I am involved in have a
professional board. The board members bring professional expertise in
organization mamagement and orraising money. I think we should start a
board. Any member of the boarrd would commit to raise or donate 5ooo
dollars a year. The Anesthesiologist who attended today should be woed
seriously. The guy has got to be worth millions to be blunt. We are
just spinning wheels cuz to reaxh the mainstream it is all about the
money. He can also be wooed to le3ad our effort on a professional
mission statement. And then should be sucked into sponsoring a
professional media outreach and brabnding campaign. This guy and the
other visitor tonight whose wife is a U of chicago economist should be
wooed, along with Hennifer We really neeed to get and focus in getting
respectable deep pcketed and thoughtful professional manaagement on
our board. Please delete this message once read, as I may be making
inappropriate assumptions about individuals. But I will tell you an
anesthesiologist I know well was upset cuz the individual just missed
making 4 grand in one day recently and thats with all expenses paid
including insurance travel and housing and food. The bottom line is
when intelligent thoughtful articulate rich folks walk in our door, we
should figure our whatever it takes to get them engaged. I can host a
dinner for the idea of forming a board. I can even pretend to be calm
mainstream and reasonable at least for a few hours. I've got the good
crystal, Renata has the wine snob part down and even knows a bit about
choke ..capers. Lets do it.

Phil,

I agree with you that your message perhaps should be deleted;
however, as I understand it, only the List's owner or Monitor can do
that; I am neither.

Without commenting on particular individuals, I would agree with you
also that money is not a bad thing. We could use some. But, I
disagree that money alone accomplishes anything. If a group does not
have clear goals, and I am of the opinion that the LPSf does not,
then what is the group going to do with the money? I suggest
developing some clear goals first.

I have just posted an e-mail suggesting a group meet before the next
LPSF meeting to iron out some ideas as to who we are and where do we
want to go. Are you interested?
