Thanks for the link. I don't fundamentally disagree with the author's premises; the point here is that government regulation is creating the black market in the first place. And since government officials (like Navy SEALS, Marines, defense contractors, and police departments) have access to these weapons, they will be the ones most likely behind the black market.
As we all know, though, a black market is purely another example of corrupt governments eliminating their competitors.
BTW, as a point about Republicans and gun control, it was George Bush Sr, who in 1990 by Executive Order, prohibited US military personnel from keeping small arms captured on the battlefield. Bush Sr. was also the one who proposed the Brady Bill. None of our supposedly pro-gun GOP administrations ever reversed any of these policies.
