Terrance Faulkner of the San Francisco Republican Party just phoned me. He says Supervisor Wiener has a bill to change the way ballot pamphlet arguments are chosen. I gave him Starchild's e-mail and what I think is Starchild's phone. Faulkner's phone is 415-286-8687. He says there is no hearing date yet for the bill. Nor do I know what the bill does, but it is probably not good for us.

Thanks, Richard. I spoke with Terrance today, and we agreed to keep each other posted if we hear anything further. He didn't know any details about the legislation, but I agree it is something to watch as it likely will not be good (Supervisor Wiener does not have a great track record).
Terrance mentioned something I wasn't aware of, namely that he and Arlo Smith (former D.A.) were responsible for suing and opening the free ballot argument lottery up to members of the public, that it used to be just the mayor and board members who could author them.
