The Attorney General has cleared the Taxpayer Protection Act of 2006 for
circulation and Taxpayers to Save the 2/3 Vote is beginning to collecting
signatures.
The California Taxpayers’ Association has documented billions of dollars in
new taxes that state and local politicians are trying to disguise as “fees”
in order to circumvent the strict vote requirements that currently apply to
taxes. Now is the time to close that loophole by putting the Taxpayer
Protection Act on the ballot and passing it next June.
The professional signature gatherers are hitting the streets immediately.
But it’s important to remember that every signature we gather through
volunteers saves valuable funds that can be used to pass this initiative next June.
Supporters of the measure – including the California Chamber of Commerce,
California Manufacturers & Technology Association, California Taxpayers’
Association and others – are asking for your help in gathering signatures.
We will provide you with petitions, talking points and easy to follow
instructions. Any signatures you can gather would be a tremendous help in stopping
politicians from disguising new taxes as “fees.”

Or call me at: 310/996-2678.
We’ll keep you updated on the signature gathering progress – thanks in
advance for any help you can give.
