Marcy,
What libertarian rhetoric about the government do you think is out of place? Aren't the crimes of government pretty much the reason for the Libertarian Party's existence? For my part, I've always viewed the LPSF as a means to an end, the end being freedom.
Yes, political parties are entities recognized and to some extent defined by government, and yes the Libertarian Party enjoys such recognition. We accept this recognition because it serves our purposes. This does not mean we have to, or should, do *everything* the way some in government prefer that we do it, when those approaches do *not* serve our purposes.
We want people in society to do more to resist and speak out against the unjust dictates of government. Why shouldn't we set a good example ourselves?
I don't see this as a philosophical discussion between just the two of us, but a very practical group discussion related to planning our upcoming event. Part of the reason to talk about it here and now is so that people can think about the issues and be more ready to decide how we want to proceed on Saturday.
Love & Liberty,
