Supervisor wants to redraw police station boundaries

Dear Everyone;

Sup. Mirkarimi wants to re-draw the police station boundaries. This is the same Sup who wants to introduce legislation to require SFPD neighborhood beat foot patrols.

http://www.examiner.com/a-169771~Supervisor_proposes_redrawing_boundaries_of_S_F__police_stations.html

The attached pdf is of the page from the newspaper with a map of the district stations and the number of officers assigned to each station.

The article also talks about the new computerized data collection system for tracking crime trend data nothing in the article about tracking criminal data.

Thank you for the article, Ron. The article presents the boundary
moving approach is one solution to the tragic crime rate. The
approach in our penidng petition could be presented as "another"
solution, in order to avoid looking arrogant as Mike A. suggested.

Dear Marcy;

The arrogance has been sweetened up and sugar coated. See the new epistle - I'll bring copies tomorrow. Let's catch a bunch of flies with sugar - then swat them...... Figuratively speaking of course - although baseball bats aside the heads do tend to have a certain cachet - or is it two by fours? Whatever works...

Dear Ron,

Great!!! The new, improved, mellifluous Police Petition can serve as
an excuse to get ourselves invited to inner sanctums of all
persuasions...and then POW! we tell them about l-i-b-e-r-t-a-r-i-a-n-
i-s-m! See you all tomorrow, Cybelle's Pizza, 9th and Judah, 3:00 pm!

Dear Marcy;

For clarification this is the introductory letter to be sent to all the powers that be - Not the Police Petition Itself - that stays un-changed as agreed to with the minor changes on the force levels at the last LPSF mtg. as posted on the LPSF activists site.

The introductory letter ahs some of the changes as originally sent to Ex Comm for review and suggestions and recommendations - more to follow tomorrow at mtg.
