Midwives Help People Out
Of course the AMA does not approve because midwives are competition. Once upon a time the AMA even had managed to get homeopathy banned.
Makes one wonder how much lower fees would be if the professionals like doctors and lawyers had competition from people who could perform some of the mundane tasks which do not actually require being an MD or a JD.
In Texas the state bar even managed to get Nolo Press self-help law books banned by the court because it was determined to be practicing law without a license. Surprise Surprise Surprise.
