Richard,
I am pretty sure that Terry was referring to a real place. It was
called the Soviet Union. They were notorious for airbrushing
purged "comrades" out of state pictures that had been taken with
Stalin.
Far for being "over-dramatic", Terry is merely being observant.
And, he's right. The LP's positions on the Special Election
initiatives, arrived at, what, two months ago, are still
conspicuously absent from the website. And, on the press release
page we still see advertised, as item 5, our convention of 7 months
ago.
Yet Mark Selzer (who??) has vanished from the EC webpage to be
replaced by Ted Brown - in the space of 48 hours.
This seems to me evidence of a goal (I am guessing, the elevation of
Bruce Cohen to the Southern Vice Chair slot?) that the EC is not
bothering to share with the rest of us.
Fact is, there is NO OBJECTIVE EVIDENCE that Mark committed any of
the "crimes" for which he is now supposed to be gratefully accepting
a pardon. Were I he, I would suggest where the EC could put it.

Terry,
Don't get over-dramatic about Mr. Selzer's self-caused problems.
My understanding is that he has now met the conditions for the
pardon, so it is likely that he will be back from history's trash
bin (bit-bucket?), soon.
And, if you want something posted on the LPC web site, I think you
should ask the chair of the website & infrastructure committee
before jumping to conclusions.
I reread the book you may be referring to just a few months ago.
Or, did you mean a real place?

Subject: RE: [lpsf-discuss] Selzer and LibAlt
To help widen the audience for the Libertarian Alternative
beyond the limited scope of public access television, I have made
Bittorrent files of two episodes of the show that I'd like to see
spread far and wide. I have posted links to them on two torrent
tracking sites, but I need more people to seed the files to make
them easier to obtain. Bittorrent works best when there are lots of
computers seeding the file, so everyone who wants it downloads
pieces from all the peers who have the file. The more peers sharing
the file, the faster you can obtain it. The files I've made into
torrents include the two-part interview with Nathaniel Branden.
It's not difficult and doesn't take long to make a torrent, so I
would like to convert our entire library of LibAlt episodes to this
format over the next couple of months.
If the LPSF would like to post these torrents on their website,
it would be most helpful. We will be uploading them to the EBLP
site soon. I had hoped to have them posted on the LPC website as
well, but since the "purging," all references to Mark Selzer have
been removed from the site within 24 hours of the vote, and I doubt
these documents would be welcomed there.
Now what totalitarian regime used to doctor photographs of
purged comrades from official records and re-write history to erase
the memory of the existence of these traitors? I'm afraid many of
our membership may be too young to remember the answer to this
question, or didn't learn about this part of history in the public
schools.

I'm absolutely gutted to hear of Mark's ousting from the party.
Clearly he has been one of
our most effective contributors to the LP in California and
nationwide. I hope that we will
hear from him, and I especially hope amends can be made.
On a related note, I believe the last airing of LibAlt on our
local cable access channel was
fresh content. If so, I'd like to thank whomever arranged for
acquiring new tapes.
