Thanks, Francoise. Ann Grogan has done a great job in getting the newspapers to write about the Patrols; problem is, the papers insist on treating the Patrols as if they operated in a vacuum, without reference to the SFPD, the Patrol's competitors. For example, what have been the number of lawsuits, complaints, charges brought against the SFPD? I have the feeling that experienced news reporters know when the powers that be want something, they usually get it -- take defeat of Prop B as an example -- and the news folks do not want to be caught on the wrong side of an issue.
