Do we have any volunteers to do the "Liberty Minute" on Bill's show?
Rob,
Didn't he say he wanted to charge us $10 a minute for this? Given
that we can get on public access TV for free by going and speaking at
City Hall meetings, or if we want a longer segment with more control
over content by taping our own show and getting a slot, and that we
also have the free offer of a platform for video content from
Friction.TV, I'm not sure Bill's proposal is a good use of funds.
Anyone know if Mark Selzer's "Libertarian Alternative" shows are
still airing in our public access slot, by the way, or did we just
let that drop?
Love & Liberty,
((( starchild )))
A couple of years ago, we had a discussion on this list as to who
wanted to volunteer to take care of the LPSF Public Access show, since
those of us (Mike D., Morey, Phil, Starchild and me) who had at one
time or another volunteered were no longer doing so. No one
volunteered; therefore, the show was not renewed.
The tapes ended up at my house. Since these tapes were a considerable
investment of funds and good will by Mike D., we should perhaps make
use of them, assuming they are in a format still acceptable to Public
Access TV (digital videocassettes, DVM30).
If there is a volunteer to re-institute the LPSF show and provide the
tapes to Public Access TV on their regular schedule, I can pass the
tapes on to him/her.
Or, if there is no volunteer to accomplish that, I am wondering if
LPSF can negotiate with Bill to give him the tapes for use in his
show? Better the tapes get aired one way or another than have them
sit in my file cabinet.
I don't know if Bill would want to charge us his $10 per minute to air
the tapes, which would not be acceptable (at least to me); or he would
see the free tapes as a benefit to him.
On the other hand, if you all would prefer that LPSF keep the tapes,
that's OK with me also.
