We could always move to the main post office after the downtown
commute rush has ebbed; they're open until midnight, and in the past
there was a steady stream of cars arriving until late (though nowhere
near the volume of people around Montgomery Street BART).

I have several of the old anti-tax signs, but I can't carry them with
my
big sign on the bus. Can someone come to my place (972 Haight) to get
them and carry them to the protest? If so, please reply to this message or call me at 487-9325.
I can go before 5 p.m., but I don't want to be there alone. In fact, I
would like to ride the bus with someone, because I get some strange
looks (and sometimes comments) when I go to the bus stop alone with my
big sign. The Warbucks flyers are still relevant, unfortunately, and a lot of
people seem to like them, but I don't have any of them. Does anyone?Chris, can you print some more of those?
Kelly
PS: Since the time has not been announced yet, maybe it's not too late
to change the location to the Rincon Post Office. It might be nice to
have a change, and there is more of a chance of having cameras there
than at the BART station.Subject: [lpsf-activists] Re: Fw: Reminder-Tax Day Action This Friday,

To: lpsf-activists@yahoogroups.comChris,
You are correct; Evans is what I was thinking about. No, I did not
suggest we change venue now. I was just expressing a thought.Regarding who will bring what to the protest, Jawj said she would
bing a cage full of her kittens, with some sort of sign "Are you a
prisoner of taxes?" I think it is a great idea, but maybe if someone
objects, this is the time to say so.Since Kelly was not going to be at the last meeting, she gave me some
of her literature. If you need it, please let me know, and I will
find a way to get it to you. (I will not be at the protest, because
as usual on the 15th of April, some of my clients are still
desperately trying to do some tax filing at the last minute).Marcy

Hash: SHA1I will never understand why we decided to move the annual LPSF Tax
Day
Protest from the Rincon Annex to the MUNI station. But, there
must have
been a reason. MECA will still be at the Rincon Annex (an
probably so
will the TV crews).
I don't remember if we were ever at Rincon, except before my time.
In 2001 we were at the Evans Ave. PO, which is open until
midnight. The
only press we saw was Univision, and we had no Spanish speakers. I
don't
know what we did in years prior to that.
For 2002, 2003, and 2004, we have tried the Montgomery BART/Muni
because of
the IRS table there.
I would have no objection to trying something different this year,
except
that it's short notice.
What time are we starting?
Who is organizing signs? I have the plastic banners, but not the
signs
that were made in prior years.
Who is in charge of handouts?
