Good work, Morey! I recently found a sympathetic business owner too, a
woman named Zahra who runs the Cafe International on the north side of
Haight Street at Fillmore. She enthusiastically accepted some matches
to pass out, and she's willing to hand out literature too I think (I
didn't have much on me, but posted a few things on the bulletin board).
Very cool, friendly person!
Kelly, since you've got outreach material and it's not far down the
street from you, would you be willing to go by there and talk with her?
Having multiple contacts from different people usually helps. You might
also bring a voter registration and membership form and see if she's
willing to register with or join us.

While passing out matchbooks downtown today, I met a tobacco store
owner who is
familiar with and sympathetic to the LP. He welcomed the opportunity
to give away
matches and offered to put out some literature in a little sitting
area in his shop.He had one area of reservation that has kept him from joining, having
to do with concern
for those who are born into disadvantaged situations. Having no 30
second answer, I
thanked him for his time and left it at that. With a little bit of
effort, I don't think it would
be difficult to win him over.If anyone would like to drop off some brochures and have a chat with
him, I would be
