Thanks for your thoughts, Brendan. Jeff is at jeff@yunes.us.
I tend to think it wouldn’t be practical or worth the cost in terms of inhibiting timely posts to require pre-approval for posting memes, but it’s worth discussing what our policy should be at a future meeting. I agree they should be used carefully. Indeed, all statements we put out in the name of the party should be made carefully, and I’m not sure I’ve always been as prudent as I ought to myself. Sometimes I’ll catch myself about to post something from the LPSF account on X (Twitter), and decide it’s really something I should use my personal account for instead, or even delete after I’ve already posted. Not that I think I’ve posted anything horrendous, or at odds with the Non-Aggression Principle, but still.
I wish we had some kind of aggregator to automatically cache all posts made on behalf of the LPSF in a place (on our website, say) where they could be periodically reviewed by the group at meetings, so we could discuss any that seemed dubious to anyone. I’ve been meaning to cross-post my X posts to our discussion list, but that does take extra time and so far I haven’t managed to get myself in the habit of doing it.
I’m copying this thread to the Activist list in case others have ideas or would like to weigh in.

Starchild, I know you’re not a fan of Meta, but if you click on the link and view the context of the post I think you’d understand that it’s not in support of Trump and Vance’s claims, but rather parody. Also, I think most people by now realize that anything and everything Trump says or claims is a gross exaggeration of the truth. With all that said, duly noted.

Thanks, Richard! I haven’t seen that cat meme, but from your description it sounds like it could be taken the wrong way (i.e. endorsing Donald Trump’s unsubstantiated claims that Haitian migrants are eating people’s pets). Maybe you want to add a note or something to clarify what I presume was the intent you were trying to communicate (non-aggression)?

Hi Brendan,
Thanks so much for coming today, it was good to (virtually) meet you as well. I’m copying Richard Fast on this so you two can work on an LPSF presence on Instagram. I’ve got a pretty good collection of libertarian memes and graphics, by the way – maybe I can put them in a Dropbox file or something.
The LPSF email lists I mentioned are:
lpsf-activists@forum.lpsf.org mailto:lpsf-activists@forum.lpsf.org – For party business and activist stuff
lpsf-announce@forum.lpsf.org mailto:lpsf-announce@forum.lpsf.org – Restricted posting low-volume announcement list
lpsf-discuss@forum.lpsf.org mailto:lpsf-discuss@forum.lpsf.org – Anything folks want to talk about (just no spam/abuse)
None of them have been getting too much traffic the past few years (my fault on the Announce list, for often not getting around to posting our meetings and other stuff there as often and timely as desirable). So I encourage you to sign up for all three. If you just send an email to each of the addresses above, you should get a bounce message back with info on how to subscribe.

I was hoping we could avoid a centralized, ‘hivemind’ approach to social
media posting. Because different types of messaging resonate with different
types of people, I think a diversity of posting styles and content is a
strength, not a weakness and shows how unique our party is. I would favor a
type of operations procedures manual that gives recommendations on best
practices rather than reviewing posts at each monthly meeting. I don’t
think that is a good use of the members’ time unless there is a specific
post that members find objectionable. That meeting time is better spent on
coordinating activism and outreach, in my opinion.
