I guess you're right--if we've killed only 10,000 people in Iraq, that
doesn't really qualify as terrorism.
I share your wish to be spared further demonstrations of the
incompetence of our government security systems against terrorism. I
don't see how killing Iraqis will help.
As for the responsibility being "ours": The first-person plural feels
to me an important rhetorical device. Though it's literally true that
I've done what I can, with words, to oppose the war, that perspective
may also let me off the hook a little too easily. Not all of those
murdered Iraqis sought war with the U.S., either.
