Starchild....Parents who don't want the waiting period of 48 hours need
to simply answer the doctor's call (if they didn't already know about
it) and say go ahead. That is hardly a presumption of conservative
values. The only part of this bill that presumes conservative values is
that the parent can't TELL the physician to provide an abortion to a
minor who doesn't want one. It would be a much more even handed
Libertarian proposition and less "conservative" if this part was
changed.
Once again, parents who want to allow their children a less disciplined
lifestyle can still do that and they can still get abortions under Prop
73. I don't see how this would change that or discriminate against
parents who want their kids to get them fast.
