RE: [lpsf-discuss] Re: 9/11 Film "Painful Deception" (Feb. 1, Oakland)

A reasonable point, but perhaps not a telling one. As Jack Cashman
relates, Clinton's first response to the downing of TWA Flight 800 was
an Executive Order repealing whistleblower protection.

For several years after the Wright brothers started flying, on their
farm outside Dayton, the local paper refused to say anything about it,
despite the fact that thousands of people had seen them. The New York
Times also refused to cover it, on the ground that, if it were real, the
local paper would have covered it. Leading physicists had pronounced it
impossible, and nobody wanted to give publicity to a hoax.

Don't forget the Waco massacre. How many years was the
documentary 'Waco: The Rules of Engagement' out before
the senate hearings? 7-8?

The answer is I do not know. However, in chaotic
environments, lots of
things happen that appear difficult to explain. If
there was a
conspiracy, it seems to me it would have to be so
vast that someone
would have talked.

What's your guess about why WTC7 collapsed in
free-fall time?

  So is mine.

Though, like a person who overeats likely does not
"plan" on the
consequence of obesity, the US gov has been
involved in a lot of
nasty
business overseas for which unplanned consequences
were
inevitable.

The farther one is from the source of power, the more "given" and the
less contingent things appear. The risk of those far from the source
is that they either obey like sheep or see conspiracies. The risk of
those near the source is that they become cynical and nihilistic.

As an example, here is an actual conversation between myself and an
older family member:

Derek: "Would you be in support of legalizing marijuana?"

She said "No"

I said "why not?"

she said "because it's the law"

Then I said "well, if it's a bad law maybe we should change it, and if
it's sufficiently bad, maybe we should just ignore it"

To which she replied: "but it's the law"

How does this relate to 9/11 conspiracy theories? The further we are
away from the powers that be, the easier it is to see conspiracy
theories. The several active and retired sr. military officers
(colonel and above) that I know, all think the chances of a conspiracy
on 9/11 are nil.
One question though, did anyone die when the other smaller building (i
think it's called building 7) came down?
If I'm able, I would like to see the movie though.
