I suggest that one way we could get out in front of this issue is by campaigning for all city property taxes against people at risk of losing their homes to be waived. We could issue an LPSF press release on the topic referencing Marc Joffe's piece.
Even if you don't like the idea of letting some people keep their tax money when others have to pay (Golden Gate Bridge toll controversy redux!), maybe you see it as a preferable alternative to the city government seizing the homes in order to give them to occupants and the lenders not getting repaid on their mortgage loans?
