RE: [lpsf-discuss] Liberty Lab for Film in SF Mission Thurs, 6:00PM, June 2, 2016

Thank you so much for the mention of this. Phil Berg and I attended last night and it was a MARVELOUS event at the completely refurbished Outer Mission Theater now Alamo Draft House. We got to see 5 great Liberty themed short movies (20 minutes each) made by passionate young Libertarians who were in attendance and available for conversation afterwards. And also Breitbart, the event sponsor, bought dinner and drinks for everyone….most generous for a FREE event.

Phil and I were thrilled to speak with these young people and witness mass excitement about Libertarian ideas in the room, something we’ve never seen before. Phil commented during the Q & A it was once said all the Libertarians in the world could fit into Murray Rothbard’s living room and asked each filmmaker to recount their path to becoming Libertarians. They all commented on how much they liked the question and obliged us with their stories. So sweet.

I’m increasingly appreciating the Breitbard organization as a force for promoting Liberty ideas. Each of these 5 filmmakers were given $10K to make their movies. They all commented personally that when they heard about the competition, it was so generous they thought it was a scam. After they were selected, they spent 2 months in workshops with successful Hollywood, Liberty-minded movie makers to refine their ideas.

For those who haven’t been following, Breitbart also is sponsoring the most wonderful Milo Yiannopoulis<> “Dangerous Faggot Tour” of college campuses. He is the most wonderfully funny, young, politically incorrect, liberty-oriented personality out there. I encourage you all to get better acquainted with him.

Phil and I are predicting happy days ahead for Liberty. The tide does appear to be turning. Phil and I invited the filmmakers to reach out to us when in town next time.

Harlan….thank you again. How did you hear of this?
