It was Bruce's choice, but I think it was a good one. And I'm someone who was during the Cold War, and is now, probably as strongly anti-communist as yourself. Just because the communists were totally wrong about their *ideology* doesn't mean there's nothing we can learn from their *methods*. Despite having horrible ideas, they inspired deep loyalty from many very intelligent and well-meaning people. I think that's due in part to the fact that they created a strong sense among their supporters of solidarity and camaraderie in the service of a noble, idealistic cause by customs such as addressing each other as "comrade."
