RE: [lpsf-discuss] Evidence Iraqi reaction to statue-toppling was n't staged after all?

Thanks, Starchild. I'm in no position to deny that the IndyMedia photo was faked, but the photos from Wiener's URLs don't provide strong evidence that it was. The Reuters photo does appear to have been taken later than the others, judging both from the light and the number of people immediately around the statue. But it couldn't have been taken too much later, if the statue was toppled at 6:48 p.m., and the tank is still in position. And although the new photos show more people than the Reuters photo, they are still relatively close-up. And, as you acknowledge, the new photos don't address the claim that the Iraqis present were Iraqi National Congress flown in from London. Those who were saying "Thank you, Mr. Bush" to the cameras obviously knew at least that much English.
