Ron…in both cases a position is taken although not in resolution form. The LPSF cannot seem to take a position in resolution or not in resolution form.
Dear Ron, Mike and All,
We seem to be mixing so many apples, oranges, and bananas here in this apparent food fight, that I have lost track of what argument we wish to make!! What is it LPSF wants to pass a resolution on? 1) The WikiLeaks case (ordinary citizens' right to know what their elected officials are up to). 2) Assange's separate case (he has been held for sex molestation under the laws of a country other than the U.S.). 3) Starchild's resolution (calling for Assange's immediate release). In my opinion, an argument simply stating all these cases are related is doomed to failure.
Please also, let's keep in mind action that is contrary to what we hoped is not the same as "inaction."
And finally, a reminder that LPSF election of officers is at the next meeting January 8. The best way to ensure action you like is to be part of the ExCom and/or regularly come to meetings and vote on important decisions.
