RE: [lpsf-activists] Minutes of LPSF meeting of July 9th, 2016

One small thing….it is Tatsiana….not “Tatiana”

Mike

Hi Mike and Francoise. Thanks, Francoise, once again for such detailed, accurate, and timelyminutes—I don’t know how you do it, but thanks for doing it! The only minor corrections I could find werethat our next meeting will be on August 13, which fortunately for us is betweenwhen the ballot measures have finally been finalized and the arguments due dateof August 18. Also, I could be wrong butI thought Edward was attracted to the LP because of Gary Johnson’s heavyadvocacy of term limits but not specifically a 6-year Presidential term. Thanks for your description of our prizespinning wheel of Crazy San Francisco Laws—just reading about them cracked meup and reinforced my impression working the wheel this first time that it was auseful—and fun—outreach tool. Thanks, Mike, for your offer of help for the ballotmeasures. A few of the likely measureshave been picked, and I will be monitoring this very closely for the next fewweeks to see how things develop. I’llpost anything critical that may need extra attention. We know a few more will be coming for sure, and Les was wondering why Wiener’s tree tax wasn’t on the list today. Also they’ve been talking about bringing backthe DMV tax for years, and I’m surprised it’s not on the list, so far. Once August 2 ends, the official list shouldpretty much be done, and we’ll have a clearer picture of what we’re up againstthis fall. So at this point, there’s nota whole lot to be done except keep an eye on any local news related to theballot measures. After August 2, it willbe time to roll up our sleeves and pick out the worst ones. I hope that this time the voters get sooverwhelmed, as Richard noted from the article the other day, that they vote NOon everything for a change. It’spretty unlikely but possible. Thanks!Aubrey
