Hi Richard,
I have been in correspondence with Mimi about this, just waiting for Trip to weigh in (see below).
Any thoughts on why we as a county might or might not want to do direct deposit?

Hi folks,
Rebecca Lau mentioned to me after the state excom meeting today that Mimi had not received a response from LPSF about dues sharing. Starchild or Trip, could one of you send her (Mimi) a quick e-mail on our status there (ie, Are we capable of receiving dues from the excom)?
Thanks,
Richard

Hi Mimi,
I’m pretty sure Trip is a member, because we went through this previously with Adrian trying to dispute the legitimacy of our officers. Again I’m copying him on this email so he can respond.

Hi Starchild,
I just looked in Neon and Trip Seibold doesn’t appear to be a member, and although there is an entry in Neon with that name, it has no other contact info, so he definitely didn’t get the email to the counties. Is he a member? If so, did he pay his dues through the county? Please let me know so we can get your treasurer updated in our system.

Anyone have any opinions on the pros or cons of using direct deposit to receive dues checks?

Dear County ExCom Members
The below email was sent out by our former Treasurer, Chris Minoletti, on September 5, 2025. So far there have only been two counties that have responded and sent a dues sharing payment.
Please, if you have a bank account and can accept the payment, please get back to me with that information so I can send out the payments as soon as possible.

Greetings County ExComs,
As the new Treasurer of LP California, I am working to resolve dues sharing for all active counties. I will just need a bit of information from your county, including:
Confirmation that your county is indeed active
Confirmation that you have a bank account to receive money or deposit a check
Address that a dues sharing check can be mailed to
If you’d like to set up ACH for a direct deposit of dues sharing to your county bank account, the email address to send the invitation to enter your bank details into Quickbooks.
At your earliest convenience, please reply only to me with the above information and I will update you when you can expect your dues sharing payment. Thanks in advance.
Best,
Chris Minoletti

Some good news from the ExCom meeting today was that our anti-Trump resolution (as rewritten by Joe Dehn, who frankly made it much better, imho), was adopted. It was a bit of a squeaker though, as they needed a super majority. I was disappointed that our own Rebecca Lau, along with Terry Floyd and one other member (Richard Stafford?), voted against it. But thanks Richard for getting the ball rolling on that.
Some not-so-good news is that lack of transparency/participation continues to be an issue, and my effort to get improvement for state committees was sidelined. The ExCom meeting was streamed on Facebook, but they had no remote participation. My offer via email to let them use our JitSi link for this went unanswered, as did my attempts to be given some means of making public comment. I think most people were not checking their emails or texts, and not being on Facebook myself, I was unable to post in the chat there.
Mimi seemed to be saying it’s not possible to have non-committee members participate on committee email lists without making that the universal case for every committee, which I think is simply false. She says they are email forwarding lists, but if email forwarding is set up for individual members of a particular committee, as it is, there seems no reason why it can’t similarly be set up for non-members of that committee as well. Unfortunately, nobody pressed her on this.
