Re: I will very likely be campaigning for SFUSD board in 2026

Right on Trip, thank you for your willingness to run for office even before 2030 when you say you plan to run for U.S. Senate!

School board is certainly much more achievable, and win or lose, might even get you more attention (outside Libertarian circles) than a Senate race, because media and neighborhood groups are more willing to cover and hear from candidates for non-partisan office on a fair and equal basis, than Libertarians seeking partisan office up against the 2-party cartel where no one expects us to get elected (and the media abjectly fail in their responsibility to inform the voters of their choices).

John Trasviña of the Voice of San Francisco writes regularly about the school board. I’ve read a few of his pieces and found them informative and generally well-taken, perhaps you’d like to check them out as well. He’s one of the folks to whom I’ve reached out as a possible guest speaker at one of our upcoming meetings.

Hi All,

I neglected to mention this during today’s meeting. I will very likely (90% probability) be campaigning for a place on the SFUSD board in November 2026.

Any networking pointers that any of you have to share towards that goal would be appreciated.
