Sure, no problem Nuala. Will you send me a copy of the recording afterward? I might also like to share it with those who can’t attend.
I thought you were saying I’d have 45 minutes to divide between talking about ballot measures and talking about other issues. Now it sounds like you’re saying just 15 minutes. I would like to ask the editors some questions as well – that can be part of the half hour for questions?

Hi Starchild,
You’re on! Thanks for making the time. The zoom link is here: Launch Meeting - Zoom https://hearst.zoom.us/j/97157800671?pwd=eQH2fNe3Lgx9Y8Dc6DNr6OhgC9o6gA.1 I also sent a calendar invite.
The editorial board is currently fielding dozens of interviews, so I’m not sure who will be able to make the zoom. It will likely be me, the editorial page editor Matt Fleischer, and Emily Hoeven, an opinion columnist and member of the board. I’ve also invited a few city hall journalists to sit in. Regardless of who can attend, we always record our interviews so we can share them with any board member who can’t attend. That way everyone is able to see the arguments, and we can draw conclusions accordingly.
For the meeting itself, we’ll offer you 15 minutes or so to explain your stance, and then we can dive into questions from there.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Thank you!
Nuala

Subject: Re: [EXT] SF Chronicle endorsement meetingThanks, Nuala. Tomorrow at 1pm is okay for me. Which individuals will be present on behalf of the Chronicle? This is by Zoom, so I assume others can come on the call to watch/listen if desired?

Thanks Starchild. We can allocate 45 minutes, so you’re free to determine how much time you want to spend on ballot measures, and the other issues you brought up!
How’s 1pm this Thursday, Aug 22?

Subject: [EXT] Re: SF Chronicle endorsement meetingHi Nuala,
Thank you for reaching out. Yes, I’d be happy to discuss any of the local ballot measures we oppose (not limited to those we’ve filed arguments against).
I’d also be interested in discussing the Chronicle’s coverage of the presidential race, and the Libertarian Party and libertarianism more generally.
Public trust in media outlets has declined precipitously. I think a major reason for this is perceptions of bias. Having honest conversations with members of the public about bias and viewpoint diversity is a good way to address concerns. Please respond on this and let me know if we can set something up for that purpose.

Hello,
The SF Chronicle’s editorial board is conducting endorsement meetings for the November election’s ballot measures. I see you’re an opponent of several measures. Would you like to meet with us to discuss these? If so I can send a zoom invite over for this week.
Thank you,
Nuala
