We’re non-profit, but not necessarily “a non-profit”, depending what definition they’re using. I always say we’re non-profit, and let others question that if they’re motivated to do so.
Would the money paid for a booth be going to the city government, or to the Richmond Night Markets organizers? Are they having to pay the government, and passing along the cost to their booth operators? I’m not saying we should automatically forego participation if one of these is the case, but how much an activity requires “feeding the State” is always something to take into consideration, in my opinion.
Thanks for the heads-up on the Solano Stroll event, Richard. I will put the September 14 date (10am-5pm) on my calendar and try to volunteer if available. Please say more about the “text campaign” you mention – who all was texted, and what was the message? Were others involved?

Trip, Thanks for looking into this. Starchild can more definitively answer whether the LPSF classifies as a non-profit, but when I registered LP Contra Costa for a booth at the Solano Stroll (Albany/Berkeley) they classified LPCCC as a non-profit. I don’t see why LPSF would be any different. BTW, if anyone wants to help manage the booth at the Stroll, it’s 9/14 from 10am-5pm; there will inevitably be people from SF present so it might benefit the LPSF to have SF voter registration forms with us. More details forthcoming.
Everyone, I have just finished a text campaign to all the members of SF and Contra Costa, past and present, as of 2024, inviting them to join us at the state convention: July 26-27 at Misson de Oro hotel in Santa Nella. Details at 2025 LPCA Annual Convention - Libertarian Party of Californiahttp://ca.lp.org/2025-convention/ . Please let us know if anyone is seeking a ride or roomshare still; I know Rebecca Lau is looking to share a room. We’re trying to get as many folks there as possible. Thanks!
Starchild, the message was “Hi [Waldo], this is Richard Fast with the
Libertarian Party of California. We invite you to join us at our state
convention July 26-27 in Santa Nella. Details at 2025 LPCA Annual Convention - Libertarian Party of California
. We hope to see you there!” No others were involved.

Cool, thanks for doing that! How many folks did you contact? How many in SF, do you know? Any responses? (People were able to respond directly, I hope?)

As I said in my previous email, I messaged all SF and Contra Costa members
past and present up to 2024. I do not have access to the 2025 list (yet).
There were a few responses: 2 “stop”, 1 “respectfully decline” and 1 “I’ll
be there!” (Sandra Kallander). For the unsubscribes, I deleted their phone
number. Also, Rebecca has a new phone number so I updated that, too.
