Proposed LPSF resolution supporting WikiLeaks / Rally TIME CHANGE - Starts 4pm tomorrow, 1 Sansome Street

Thank you, Marcy. I wasn't sure whether Leslie Mangus (LPSF
treasurer) is on this list or not, so I did send him a message at lmangus@pekcpa.com
. Unfortunately, I got an auto-reply saying he's out of the office
until Jan. 3 and "will be checking the emails periodically and I will
respond in a week or two." I'm copying this email to
<treasurer@lpsf.org> in case he gets messages at that address more
quickly. Does anyone else have another email address for him?

I'm not sure where Ron and Jawg stand, precisely -- if either of them
are not prepared to support the resolution as is, I hope they will
provide some language they think is acceptable ASAP so we can discuss
their proposals.

Please note the rally time has been changed to start at 4pm, so this
gives us a little more time to get it right tomorrow (I think people
were telling the organizer we'd have more visibility if he made it at
evening rush hour instead of starting at noon).

I do feel the WikiLeaks issue is, as the organizer of this protest
put it, "the biggest free speech fight in a generation". And like Mike
Denny, I take a "think globally" perspective and favor supporting pro-
freedom positions even if the support is coming from the "wrong"
jurisdiction.

But the more proximate issue for us as an organization is our ability
to have an impact on *any* issue! If we cannot react quickly when
something like this comes along, we will continue to miss
opportunities to promote our message and let the public know we exist.

Love & Liberty,
