Thanks for the thoughts on pursuing the ballot censorship issue Aubrey (and Marcy). I agree with taking it to the Secretary of State and Attorney General (not that I expect anything good from Kamala Harris's office). We should also take it to the Elections Commission. I've already contacted them about the footprints issue and intend to testify there too.
I've scheduled the Castro fliering for Saturday on the LPSF Meetup group (https://www.meetup.com/the-LPSF/events/235148332/) and several others. I made the text about it pretty short and sweet, as some of the other stuff written on the GGLR Meetup page didn't seem necessary to go into upfront in the description, but if you think I should add any of it, let me know.
Also scheduled another event coming up next Saturday November 5 ("Remember, remember the 5th of November") which should be interesting – a "Million Mask March", a gathering of people wearing Guy Fawkes or "V" masks under the name of Anonymous (https://www.meetup.com/the-LPSF/events/235148445/).
I know we talked about doing more Gary Johnson fliering of doors in another neighborhood that day, but I'm thinking this looks too good to pass up. Check out the photo from their Facebook page (attached)! If the numbers there (296 reportedly plan to come) are anything close to accurate, it promises to be a good-sized event. Besides which the purposes are by no means mutually exclusive. I think I'll bring a "Never Clinton / Never Trump" sign to display while wearing my mask, and Johnson fliers to distribute.
Love & Liberty,
((( starchild )))
P.S. – Possible "pro tip" on getting a response from the City Attorney's Office that just occurred to me – resend the letter to them in the form of a public records request. For instance, "This is a public records request in accord with our rights under the Sunshine Ordinance and Public Records Act. We are requesting the specific language of any statute which authorizes (fill in description of Supervisor Peskin and Elections Dept. action with regard to Prop. B here), and any communications sent to your department by members of the public or by other city officials that relate to (repeat description of actions)."
Then – as you may recall from BART Board candidate Michael Petrelis's presentation to us on being a sunshine activist! – they legally have to respond within, if I recall correctly, 48 hours and give some kind of more substantive response with10 days. And I believe they legally have to send you back a copy of your own certified letter to them, since it falls under the description! That way you'll have proof they read it, and their failure to respond will be more glaring. I think I may send the Elections Dept. a similarly worded request regarding the footprints issue since they still never responded in writing on that issue.
