How much at the Com Club?
Eric,
Someone told me this already happened, but I'm not sure. Anyone?
Did anybody go to any of his appearances? I ended up not going tonight, so I'm curious to hear how it went.

Welcome to the LIBERTARIAN PARTY OF SAN
FRANCISCO. Are you looking for
a way to help envision and create a more
peaceful , civil , and
compassionate city?
Do you believe deep in your heart that
violence towards innocents is
wrong. Do you long for society where
people treat themselves and others
with respect
and dignity? Do you wonder what happened
to Dr. Welby? Can you
envision a city where hundreds or
thousands of ways are invented and
tried to improve education,
cure diseases, help the less fortunate,
and improve the health of our
environment here and around the world?
If these questions engage you, then
welcome to the LIBERTARIAN PARTY OF
SAN FRANCISCO. We are about embracing the
classic freedom loving roots
of San Francisco.
When we walk around this beautiful city
we are awed by the beauty of
the old city built in the months after
the earthquake. We smile at the
alley names
south of Market, named after the most
loved Madams of a freewheeling
San Francisco. We take in the miles of
beautiful Victorians that rose
from ashes and
stand solid a hundred years later. We
wonder how the freewheeling
lawlessness after the earthquake could
have produced such a wholesome
urbanity with no
planning commision, no planning appeals
board, no building permits, and
no zoning. [NO QUESTION MARK]
We marvel at great social innovations
coming from the young people in
our city. We applaud the INNOVATORS of
micro loans. We applaud those in
our group
who are teaching homeless folks how to
think differently about
themselves and thier place in the world.
We applaud some of our members
who have tried feeding
the homeless in style, with table cloths,
silver ware, and candles,
reminding some of a better life that
awaits. We applaud the NATURE
CONSERVANCY that
buys up critical habitat , and PRESERVES
it regardless of the political
whims of the politicians.
We take ["THE" OUT] diversity to heart. A
diverse people, free to
follow thier hearts and relieved of the
burdens of war, taxation, and
inflation, can accomplish
many tasks in compassion for themselves,
thier children, thier
neighbors, thier community, thier city,
thier country, and the world.
We suspect that the government will
always work for the powerful, the
connected, and the warmakers. It will
always hold out the promise of
helping the poor,
but will [SEPARATE THESE TWO WORDS] most
likely always deliver the
goods to the rich. We hope to wake San
Franciscan's to this reality.
Welcome!
Phil,
This looks like a stab at what you were talking about to me the other day -- making the LPSF web site more geared toward reaching out to the left-leaning SF majority. I entirely agree with that goal. I can see some edits I'd suggest making to this, but I like the basic thrust of it.
Love & liberty,
