Hi Ron, et al;

Many don't know it, but if you live in California and buy something interstate on the Internet, you may not have to pay the other state's sales tax, but that does not mean it is exempt from the CA "sales and use" tax. If you buy something in another state (e.g., on the Internet) and bring it into CA sales tax free, you are still supposed to declare it and pay the CA "use" tax, yourself.

Of course, many people don't do this, and look at those interstate/Internet purchases as having dodged the sales tax bullet.
