Well Chris, I suggest they tell the truth. If the are anti-abortion I
recommend a statement something like this:

Abortion is a tragedy for all involved, I will work to reduce the need for
abortion thru educating our teens on safe sex and encouraging couples who find
themselves with an unwanted pregnancy to consider adoption. As a personal
choice, I would not choose abortion for me or my family.

I think this is closer to what I had in mind. It doesn't make as many
points - but it's considerably shorter.

I wouldn't put it in terms of "I" (the candidate) "educating our teens" -
that's not the mayor's job - but something along those lines is very good.
