Oakland residents and civil liberties advocates are having some success in fighting efforts to construct a new meta-snooping center geared toward monitoring residents and their communications in collaboration with the Feds. This is a great effort for (L)ibertarians to support. I hope that the Alameda County and Contra Costa County LP chapters and other local pro-freedom groups will join the Bay Area Civil Liberties Coalition (http://.bayareacivilliberties.org) as the LPSF has done, and help mobilize your constituencies to stand up against Big Brother surveillance at the local level.
