No on Prop. 50 - Defend Fair Elections

The Libertarian Party Opposes Proposition 50
Prop 50 would undo a key reform that entrusted congressional map-drawing to
California’s independent Citizens Redistricting Commission. Instead, it
would adopt a new map written into law by politicians—tilting the process
toward the party in power.
Libertarians reject gerrymandering in all forms. Fair elections come from
empowering voters, not letting politicians choose their voters. For more
than a decade, Californians have relied on a citizen-led commission to keep
redistricting independent and transparent. Prop 50 would move us backward.
LPC urges a NO vote on Proposition 50.
Why Say No on Prop 50
Proposition 50 would roll back independent redistricting and hand
map-drawing back to Sacramento insiders. Fair elections require fair
maps—Prop 50 undermines both.
Independent oversight: The Citizens Redistricting Commission is
citizen-led, not controlled by career politicians.
Community representation: Fair maps keep neighborhoods and local interests
together.
Accountability: Competitive districts make legislators earn votes instead
of relying on gerrymanders.

If Prop 50 passes, politicians could redraw districts to protect their own
seats, carve apart communities, and tilt elections for years. Once power is
seized, it’s rarely returned. Say No on Prop 50.

Will the LPSF authorize a resolution to support the current lawsuit & free fair, transparent elections-loving citizens committed to overturn the US$300 MILLIONS Proposition 50 farce which is simply Newsom’s personal campaign for President & support Attorney Jim Lacy’s [ James.Lacy@wewerlacy.com | 877.449.2700 ] initiative to be filed with the California Attorney General Rob Bonta to reinstate the California Citizens Redistricting Commission’s Congressional Districts in 2028 ??

“The ‘Fair, Independent, and Nonpartisan Redistricting Act’ (FAIR) will appear on the November 2026 ballot if enough signatures are gathered.”

The Dhillon Law Group, Assemblyman David Tangipa, 18 California voters, & the California Republican Party announced they will file a federal lawsuit challenging Prop. 50, alleging it unconstitutionally gerrymanders districts in violation of the Fourteenth and Fifteenth Amendments.

Newsom may as well state, “in order to save Democracy we must dismantle it,” except this has always led to despotism and authoritarianism. And California is already precariously close to that cliff.

Newsom trying to “redistrict” ( read: cheat ) the few remaining Republicans [ & Libertarians ] out of California congressional districts is actual “dismantling Democracy.”
