Yesterday Janice and I saw the new movie "Moneyball," with Brad Pitt. The
overriding lesson it conveys is pertinent to us LPers: if you're obsessed
with ultimate victory, you'll miss the smaller victories along the way.
As an extra bonus, Art Howe (played by Philip Seymour Hoffman) looks like
Mike Denny.
Warm regards, Michael
I was listening to a discussion of Moneyball's on NPR this afternoon! I believe what I heard is that the folks in the movie represent real people, and the individual who was being interviewed on NPR was one of the real people. He impressed me as pragmatic, making decisions based on the information at hand, reviewing those decisions when new information arose, forging ahead towards a goal, and placing as much emphasis in the process by which one achieves success as the achievement itself. So, in a way, Michel, you are correct that the focus was not on "winning" alone.
