Philosophically this may not be a strong libertarian issue, but politically I think it's very good that this measure has apparently been at least temporarily defeated. Passage would likely have meant many more union members, since without secret ballots for union formation it is believed workers would be more subject to more pressure to vote for unionization, and thus more dues would have been forcibly collected from them and used by union leadership to support largely anti-liberty political causes.
