Miskitu Nation benefit event tomorrow (Oakland) - Support Indigenous Victims of the Sandinista Regime

Back in the 1980s, Central America was a major Cold War conflict zone as communists backed by the regimes in the Soviet Union and Cuba attempted to spread their influence. But few in the U.S. realize that the Nicaraguan Sandinista dictator of that era, Daniel Ortega, is back in power and again oppressing indigenous peoples along the country's Caribbean coast, an area that was a formerly independent country called Miskitu or Miskitia and whose people had been promised autonomy (see e.g. https://nacla.org/news/2016/12/09/indigenous-resistance-nicaragua’s-elections).

If freedom lovers don't want the U.S. government or other world powers playing Global Policeman and bombing or invading other countries, it's up to us to play our part to create voluntary change by directly supporting independence movements, human rights, and freedom around the world. Event details below.

RSVP at https://www.meetup.com/the-LPSF/events/245334242/ and/or https://www.meetup.com/RonPaulSF/events/245334251/ to show your support and let other freedom lovers know you're attending.
