Microsoft's backdoor for the NSA

http://digglicious.blogspot.com/2007/01/how-nsa-access-was-built-into-windows.html

"A CARELESS mistake by Microsoft programmers has revealed that special access codes prepared by the US National Security Agency have been secretly built into Windows. The NSA access system is built into every version of the Windows operating system now in use, except early releases of Windows 95 (and its predecessors). "

This is probably not true, and no longer relevant if
it were. Note that this story is from 1999. That
"NSAKEY" still exists, just renamed KEY2. The
complete story is even on Wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NSAKEY

It appears that NSA or somebody did try to suppress
the NSAKeyReplace program when it came out. However,
as pointed out by many, the program could be used to
ADD secure cryptography to Windows in other countries,
at a time when the NSA was trying to outlaw exports of
cryptography.
