According to an article in the Observer, Giday Beshue, the owner of Club Waziema (543 Divisadero Street) is being required by the state Alcohol and Beverage Control board (ABC) to close at midnight when he would like his business to be able to stay open until 2am.
I suggest we send him an inquiry packet with a note expressing sympathy for his problem and explaining the Libertarian position. Mandated closing hours are bad enough, but it is really outrageous that a state board can interfere in a local community in this manner.
