A little reminder, as subtle as we can make it: be sure to set your
VCR's, DVR's, or Windows-Media-Center-equipped PC's to record Yr. Mst.
Hmbl. Mnrch's episode of Masters of Horror, "Homecoming," directed by
that maestro di maestri, Zemblan patriot Joe Dante. It premieres on
Showtime Friday night at 10 PM EST/PST (although DirecTV and DISH
customers here in California can catch the east coast feed at 7 PM PST
and then go out and have a few drinks to shake it off). The showing
coincides with one of Showtime's free promotional weekends, so most
basic-cable subscribers should be able to watch the episode even if they
don't subscribe to Showtime. (Be warned, however, that some cable
systems are not taking part in the promotion. Check with your local
cable provider to make sure.)
As Dennis Lim's Village Voice review
<http://www.villagevoice.com/film/0548,lim,70455,20.html> should
indicate, the show is every bit as Zemblan as we could make it. To
their lasting credit, Showtime did not interfere with the content of the
episode in any way -- although they did prevail upon us to shorten the
original title, which was "Homecoming, or the Pinko's Wet Dream."
