LWV Candidate Meet & Greet Oct 23 [1 Attachment]

Hi All,

Forwarding League of Women Voters event: Meet & Greet the Candidates, October 23, 6:30 - 9:00 pm, 1395 Van Ness Ave, San Francisco. I have already posted the event on our website www.lpsf.org. Attached is the invitation.

Marcy

This is pretty expensive, considering that civic groups don't usually charge anything to attend candidate events! What kind of food is included?

Love & Liberty,

Starchild:
Thank you for your feedback. The League always prioritizes accessibility,
which is why we incorporated a $15 limited income ticket. It is our hope
that this ticket will ensure all who are interested are able to attend.
However, if you do k now someone who would like to come but can't afford the
ticket, please do feel free to share my contact information with them.

Food will include appetizers and desserts.

I hope to see you there.

Best,

Hi Nati,

Thank you for your response. I don't have room in my budget for a $15 candidate forum myself, so I expect there are others in the same boat. Such individuals aren't necessarily going to contact you, however -- they'll just see the price tag and decide not to attend. I would personally pay $5 to attend an event like this if I knew there would be vegetarian-friendly hors d'oeuvres in order to cover what seems like a reasonable cost of providing same, but not $15 or $25.

Might the LWV consider sponsoring a debate among the candidates for District 8 Supervisor? I understand from a couple of the candidates that there have not been any debates in that race, and that seems like a shame. I do appreciate the League recording debates on the ballot measures, including the ones in which the LPSF's Marcy Berry participated.

Starchild:
Thank you for letting me know.

It would be my pleasure to offer you a $5 entrance ticket. I definitely hear
your argument, and understand where you are coming from. While it is too
late for us to completely re-do our ticket pricing, please feel free to
share my contact information with anyone you know who would be interested in
attending, but is prohibited by the pricing.

We so appreciate your support. Unfortunately, we are unable to organize
another Forum at this time. As you know, we are a non-profit with limited
means, and must choose which programs to run carefully.

Please let me know if you would like to register for a ticket.

Sincerely,
Nati

P.S- There will definitely be vegetarian options!
