LPSF Proposition Positions / neighborhood group's ballot measure meeting (Thursday Feb. 11, 7pm)

At our meeting this past Saturday, the LPSF voted to oppose all five local measures (Propositions A, B, C, D, and E) on the March 3 ballot (sad that this is what was called for, but by no means a first!) All the votes were unanimous with the exception of one abstention on opposing Prop. C (Housing Authority retiree health care benefits).

Richard Fast took minutes at the meeting, which should be posted soon. One of the items I meant to put on Saturday's agenda, but forgot, was to again seek to fill the secretary position, since he has expressed a willingness to fill that vacancy (we had no volunteers at the January meeting). Hopefully we can get that done next month.

By the way, an opportunity to learn more about, and weigh in on, a few of these propositions will be happening this Thursday evening, for any who might be interested (see forwarded message below). I believe the "Schools and Communities Initiative" referred to in HANC's email is the $15 billion bond measure on the statewide ballot, Proposition 13 (not the good Prop. 13 from 1978 that limited property taxes, this one is more the opposite!), but am not 100% sure because that's not the official title.
