We can be sure that Snowden would really want this. If elected, this would
make it legal for him to return to the US without fear of being arrested
according to Article I Section 6 of the US Constitution.

Lewinsky might like this too especially if she is put in a race she can win.

Some members of our group considered running Lewinsky for election back in
about 2002. However, they had a different idea. They wanted to run her
against Hillary Clinton, to set up a rivalry between Hillary and Lewinsky.

But that was a non-starter. Lewinsky did not want to be Hillary's enemy.
She wanted to be Hillary's friend, to keep it all in the family so to speak.

Lewinsky is also a dedicated Democrat. She wants to support her party and
her president. Running her as a candidate for some other party is
unthinkable.

Sam,

  Back during the Clinton administration, I think a Monica Lewinsky congressional candidacy, even if aborted, could have been a publicity coup. But I'm not sure it's such a good idea now. Raising the profile of a dedicated Democrat (or Republican) seems like a dubious tactic. It could also end up being seen as a low blow against Hilary Clinton and end up creating sympathy for her and bolstering her presidential hopes. I would recommend we focus on Edward Snowden.
