I vote NO. There was no open, public call for persons interested in this position to apply, nor any deadline given. As with Bruce Dovner, I have no specific objection to Tom Lippman being Platform Committee alternate. I don't know him or what his positions are, so how could I? However I do have an objection to the manner in which this committee has been handling these matters. We should not simply be presented with one name, and then everybody votes to rubber-stamp that person's appointment without any discussion. Anybody who doesn't see a problem with operating this way is unfit to represent our party, in my opinion.
