LP Ballot Measure Recommendations

As election day draws near, I was wondering when the LPSF (and the LP of CA) will post their recommendations on the various Propositions on the ballot this year?

Since I am currently overseas and voting by absentee ballot (which has to arrive by election day), it is important that the party's recommendations be posted soon. I look forward to studying the positions taken by the LP.

The LPCA has a hidden page without commentary here:

There is also:
http://libertarianwiki.org/CA_2005_Propositions
http://www.wgla.org/Politics/initiatives/index.htm

Hopefully we will have our own positions posted on LPSF.org shortly
after the meeting on Saturday.

Thanks very much for the information. The LPCA page being (a) "hidden" and (b) "without commentary" makes it a bit less useful than it could be, but at least it exists and can be pointed out by helpful people like you.

I will continue to check LPSF.org.

David,

Thank you for your persistence in inquiring. I don't know why the LPC's recommendations are not listed prominently on the state party's website, but I agree it is regrettable that they are not. Failing to get the word out to supporters and allies on stuff like this is a real wasted opportunity. Your situation also serves as a reminder of the need for the LPSF to have our own endorsements process earlier in the election cycle. As it is, we will be voting without having heard from the candidates for Treasurer, City Attorney, and Assessor-Recorder, and with most of us knowing little or nothing about them, because we have not made a proper investigation a part of our process. I suspect that most of our group will simply abstain or not recommend a vote for any candidates, thereby avoiding blame for any bad decisions, but this in my opinion is really shortchanging our members. They deserve to hear informed recommendations from us.

Yours in liberty,
